Increase Your Awareness with Wintergreen Essential Oil

Wintergreen is most commonly known as a sweet and minty flavoring agent in chewing gum, toothpaste, and yes, even root beer! However, Wintergreen essential oil has even more to offer therapeutically.
Wintergreen essential oil has a very powerful aroma, and when used aromatically can help influence, elevate, open, and increase awareness in your sensory system.
Wintergreen essential oil can also act as a great soothing and comforting agent for aches and pains, which is why it’s the main essential oil in dōTERRA’s Deep Blue Soothing Blend. Wintergreen has also traditionally been used for a variety of issues including skin conditions, infections, fevers, gallstones, and much more.
Tips from dōTERRA:
  • If applying to skin, make sure to test on a small area of skin first for skin sensitivity. If sensitivity occurs, dilute with fractionated coconut oil.
  • Wintergreen has a warming effect when applied to skin as is excellent to use in a massage to relieve sore muscles. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly.
  • For a soothing bath, add 3-5 drops of Wintergreen essential oil to warm bath water.
  • Wintergreen essential oil is not recommended to take internally and should be stored out of reach from children.
